The best tennis in the world, in front of 60,000 people

ZERTIOR joined the Rafa Nadal Foundation and the Real Madrid Foundation to back a big idea: a tennis match in the Santiago Bernabeu stadium between the world’s two top players. Rafa Nadal and Novac Djokovic competed to fundraise for the most disadvantaged and in search of a Guinness record for attendance at a tennis match.

The project was launched by ZERTIOR and the two Foundations and conceived as the year’s sporting and social event of the year. The match attracted a host of personalities from sports, politics and society in general. Rafa Nadal, Florentino Pérez, Ana Botella (the Mayor of Madrid), José Mourinho and Xavi Alonso were just some of the best-known at the event.

Just two weeks before the match, with a large number of business and TV agreements signed and about 40,000 tickets sold, Rafa Nadal’s unfortunate injury, which also prevented him from participating at the London Olympic Games, forced the cancellation of the event. We all trust that the event will take place in the near future.
