The charity event with the largest number of sports celebrities ever
Together with Last Lap, ZERTIOR was behind one of the biggest charity events ever organised in Spain. The goal was to raise funds for the Red Cross to assist in their project to combat malaria.
At the official presentation of the event, two exceptional protagonists — Íker Casillas and Rafa Nadal — staged at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium a football and tennis “showdown”. The tension of the situation ended with a challenge that would lead them to face months later with a team led by each.
This took place in a packed Palacio de los Deportes in Madrid, and broadcast live on television. Two teams of athletes led by Íker Casillas and Rafa Nadal competed in three sports: football, tennis and go-karts. The list of athletes who altruistically joined the teams led by Iker and Rafa will be difficult to beat in the future. They included Fernando Alonso, Sergio Ramos, Alberto Contador, Sergio García, Fabio Cannavaro, Álvaro Bautista, Santi Cazorla, Juan Carlos Ferrero, David Ferrer, Frederick Kanouté, Carlos Sáinz, Dani Sordo, Samuel Etóo, Almudena Cid, Carmen Jordá, Carlos Sastre, Feliciano López, etc.
A great Pignoise concert concluded an extraordinary event where solidarity was the only clear winner.
